As a player and coach for decades, here's why I favor this bat besides the fine Rawlings name, grip, and u expectedly low weight for such a big barrel - Alloy is 
a mixture of two or more metals
, and has been commonly used in baseball and fastpitch bats for years. Pros of Alloy: Stiffer feel through the swing zone. More solid material and less issues with colder weather. 
This means it doesn't  "sting" when player's grip is not tight enough, it's cold or rainy, or he/she gets jammed inside or low.
This is a splendid Rawlings bat! This has just been in a barrel with several other bats and hockey sticks since purchased 2 years ago and there's a few cosmetic marks to knob from resting on the chain link in dugout and just a couple marks
